Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.
Planet
As a responsible tour operator, we pride ourselves on only working with local, independent partners who share in our passion to positively impact our local communities and environment. This mountain hiking experience is led by a Mountaineering Instructor and supported by a qualified Mountain Leader. This means they’re also well trained in the importance of the protection of the environment in which they’re guiding you. As outdoor adventurers and nature lovers ourselves, we care passionately about ensuring we have no negative impact on our local landscape or the wildlife that calls it home. We work to a maximum guiding ratio of 1:4 on this trip. As well as taking care of your safety, keeping our group size to such a small number means we avoid damaging the trails and cause less disturbance to the timid wildlife. It also means you enjoy the most authentic, personal experience.
People
At the heart of everything we do is a passion to support our local community. One of the best ways we can do this is to solely work with local independent partners, all of whom are equally passionate about supporting the community in which they're based. Finding employment in rural areas has always been a challenge and often leads to young people feeling they have no choice but to move away when they reach employment age.Our hiking guides all live locally, so not only are we supporting local employment, they know the area like the back of their hand. And when you’re welcoming guests into your home, it’s natural to have a passion for ensuring they have the best possible experience.
We also encourage you to visit the local pubs and use the village shop for any supplies you may need. These rural businesses rely on regular trade to keep them open, so please do support them by buying local whenever you can.
