Holiday information
Indigenous communities:
This Colombian holiday offers the experience of a jungle trek led by a Mocagua guide in Leticia. The trip price includes a $50,000 peso entrance fee to visit the indigenous Mocagua community. This fee directly supports the local community by enhancing their economic stability. Also, tourism creates employment opportunities from the existing skills the Mocagua possess such as, traditional fishing techniques, this preserves their cultural heritage and adds to the local economy.

Planet
As part of our responsible travel approach, we prioritize environmental conservation and cultural appreciation throughout our 4-day package to the Colombian Amazon. We ensure that our activities and interactions with the local communities are conducted in a sustainable and respectful manner. Our experienced staff guides are knowledgeable about conservation and environmental issues, and we transfer their knowledge to our guests, educating them on how to reduce their environmental footprint while traveling in the Amazon. Our guides emphasize the importance of staying on designated trails to avoid damaging fragile ecosystems while exploring the Amazon.
We are committed to minimizing plastic waste in all areas of our operations, and we go the extra mile by picking up trash left by other travelers during our tours and depositing it only in places where waste sorting and recycling are possible. We believe in leaving no trace and ensuring that the Amazon remains pristine and unharmed by our presence.
We carefully select local tour operators in the Amazon who share our commitment to responsible tourism, our providers present an ideal situation for the development and implementation of sustainable design in the rainforest. The construction of their infrastructure has served as a permanent laboratory for natural and sustainable architecture, researching traditional techniques, local materials such as wood and natural fibers, clay and ceramics, landscape architecture, alternative energy sources, and water treatment.
During our tours in the Amazon, we respect the natural habitat of wild animals, birds, and plants, and do not disturb them unnecessarily. We emphasize the importance of conservation and protection of the Amazon's rich biodiversity to our guests, raising awareness about the need to safeguard this precious ecosystem.
