Accessible holidays survey
In November 2025 we carried out a survey of the tour operators we partner with and found that there is a significant disconnect between the demand for accessible holidays and the information and tools tour operators provide to customers.
Over 60% of respondents said they had experience booking someone with limited mobility on one of their holidays, and nearly half said they'd had a booking from someone with other accessibility requirements. Yet less than 8% said they provide accessible travel information on all their holidays, and a tiny 3% said the main search on their website allowed customers to both search and filter holidays by their accessibility needs.
In an ageing population, over 4 times more operators told us the average age of their customers is getting older vs younger, but very few are providing these customers with the information they need to continue travelling adventurously, and missing out on an opportunity.
Results:
Have you ever had a booking from someone with limited mobility? (e.g. can only walk 500 meters at a time)?
Have you ever had a booking from someone who needs a wheelchair?
Have you ever had a booking from someone with another accessible travel requirement?
Do you specifically offer any holidays that can cater for people with limited mobility (e.g. can only walk 500 meters at a time)?
Do you specifically offer any holidays that can cater for people who require a wheelchair?
Do you specifically offer any holidays that can cater for people with any other accessible travel requirements?
Do the holidays on your website detail accessible travel requirements they cover?
Does your website enable people to search and filter holidays by limited mobility?
Do you train your staff, enabling them to empathise with your customers with accessible needs and encourage flexibility?
From 132 responses from adventure tour operators.
