Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.

Planet

Our custom-designed journeys prioritize train travel, providing a seamless, scenic, and sustainable way to explore the world. High-speed rail efficiently connects major cities, while shorter routes make for ideal day trips from urban hubs. We avoid car rentals whenever excellent train service is available, reserving flights only for islands or routes that exceed six hours by rail. Within cities, we discourage driving altogether, instead equipping travelers with resources for local transit and curated walking routes that foster deeper cultural immersion. On this trip, you’ll even have the opportunity to explore the greater Barcelona area by bike.

Each itinerary includes carefully curated dining recommendations, featuring vegetarian, vegan, and vegetarian-friendly options, as well as authentic local cuisine. When meals are included in an activity, plant-based choices are always available. For food enthusiasts, we create enriching culinary experiences such as guided tastings, farm-to-table dining, and private visits with regional producers.

For the second half of the journey, a private driver will escort you to the picturesque villages of the Costa Brava, where you’ll enjoy both land and water-based outdoor activities in collaboration with trusted local partners.

We proudly support Rewilding Spain, an initiative dedicated to restoring nature and wildlife while preserving wild landscapes for the benefit of society. We are also partners of TAP (Travelers Against Plastic), reinforcing our commitment to sustainable and responsible travel.

People

We offer a curated selection of privately owned accommodations, ranging from charming three-star properties to luxurious five-star stays, ensuring an authentic alternative to standard hotel chains.

All of our activity partners are locally owned, independent businesses. We work closely with passionate guides and providers who specialize in delivering intimate, meaningful experiences deeply rooted in their communities.

In Barcelona, you can enjoy an exceptional culinary experience featuring visits to four carefully selected restaurants, each showcasing a unique aspect of the city’s vibrant food culture. Family-run taverns will introduce you to the timeless traditions of Catalan tapas, while modern eateries highlight the city’s contemporary gastronomy.

You’ll also have the opportunity to explore Barcelona’s lively local markets, where colorful stalls brim with artisanal products and fresh ingredients. Sample authentic Catalan specialties—from jamón ibérico and olives to seasonal fruits and sweet treats—while learning the stories behind these regional delights. On Day 7, you can visit a boutique wine producer in the Empordà region, enjoying an authentic taste of local heritage and winemaking traditions. If you are not interested in wine, there is also an opportunity to visit olive plantation where you’ll meet the owner, a renowned olive oil taster who will take you around the farm and tell you about its 500 years of history.
