Best time to visit Libya

Libya has a balmy Mediterranean climate on the coast, and an arid desert climate further inland
Between mid-May and September Libya swelters in desert heat that can easily reach the mid 40°Cs in the daytime, making travel during these summer months an unattractive prospect. Winter, from November to February, is an ideal time to visit Libya with daytime temperatures much more manageable, though they can drop below freezing at night. March to early May is another good time to travel to Libya, though be aware that desert winds, known as ghibli, will often sweep the coast between spring and early summer, bringing with them dust and heat. For exploring Roman sites and desert landscapes, October and November can be the best time to visit Libya, with pleasantly mild temperatures likely.
