Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.
Planet
By leaving the car behind, we are making it easier to explore a variety of public transportation options for holidays. We take the time to look at the schedules of buses, boats and trains and fill in any necessary gaps with short taxi rides for the more secluded locations. Not relying on a car can give you a completely different experience, particularly on an island. Walking and biking allow you to become more connected to the surroundings and enjoy the area at a more leisurely rate. Every spot also has many nearby trails to explore, within Alderney there is a walking tour that features an outing on a boat.On the island of Guernsey, a knowledgeable local guide is available to take you on a tour of the island, venturing off the beaten track to explore hidden gems. Meanwhile, Herm Island has no motorized transport or roads, so the best way to explore is by foot. A local ranger can take you on a wildlife tour, with a focus on preserving the natural habitats of the island's wildlife and instilling this value in tour participants. For a chance to see local marine life, including puffins (when in season), The Wildlife Trust offers a boat trip.
At our company, we prioritise working with local business partners who share our values and dedication to sustainable travel. We strive to collaborate with locally-owned and managed businesses whenever feasible, and we take great care to select our partners. For example, the hotel we recommend in Alderney is a small, family-owned establishment.
People
We believe in true sustainability, which involves promoting and preserving local ways of life that benefit from tourism. That's why we primarily collaborate with local, family-run businesses instead of large corporate organizations. We establish long-term relationships with these partners based on mutual trust and an unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction, while carefully selecting them to align with our values of sustainable and responsible travel. For example, two of the tours featured in this holiday are led by The Wildlife Trust, as a conservation organization, The Wildlife Trust is dedicated to promoting the preservation of the natural way of life for local wildlife and educating tour members on the importance of sustainability. At our Glasgow office, we prioritise environmental sustainability and our team is fully committed to promoting these values. We actively encourage the use of public transportation to reduce our carbon footprint, and we also provide recycling facilities on-site to minimize waste.
We understand that it is our responsibility to care for the environment, and we take this commitment seriously. Our employees are encouraged to work sustainably by turning off electrical equipment when not in use, reducing paper usage, and choosing environmentally friendly products wherever possible.
