1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Terracotta Warriors in Xi’an, travel by bullet train between major cities, the
freshness of the food, walking the Great Wall.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Make sure you download WeChat and Alipay before you arrive as these two apps are almost used exclusively for payment. Very little English is spoken so be prepared.. Make sure you have a guide for your visit - our guides in both Beijing and Xian were invaluable - both for understanding Chinas history and politics and for nurturing you through the large crowds at historic sites.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, local guides and drivers were employed and local restaurants utilised.

Our Guidebook to the clients highlights out our awareness of the importance of protecting the environment, including the heads-up for travelers to respect the environment, protect the local customs, culture and historic relics whilst exploring China. We never try bringing down our cost for the tour by using anything unrecyclable. Our company also encourages staff to reduce the use of the fax machine, for example by using our email fax viewer, and to reuse printout paper. In this tour, we encourage to use the bullet trains when traveling between cities and the electric shuttle buses when touring attractions to reduce the carbon. We also arrange the walking tours in Beijing and Shanghai instead of the ones by car. At the meantime, travelers can also understand how Chinese people are protecting our own country in history-wise, culture-wise and natural-environment-wise. We always keep small groups tours, as small group tour can reduces the impact of tourism on the environment, e.g. no noise pollution from loud hailers, and smaller vehicles mean less damage to roads.People
We are proud and happy to have formed a partnership with a local NGO — Helping Hands Volunteer Association, which operates a residential care facility to assist orphans in our community. We have sponsored Helping Hands for many years. We have been giving 10 yuan to Helping Hands for every person who travels with us this year. When you travel with us you already have made a donation to the disadvantaged children in our local community.We employ more local people and use more local products and services than foreign tour operators, and we pay better salaries (including to tour guides and supplier agencies in other cities) than other Chinese operators. This benefits local Chinese economies and contributes to a better social environment in the areas our customers visit.
As in this tour, you will visit a traditional cave dwelling to learn making a mini terracotta warrior and drink a cup of Tibetan milk tea in a tea house run by the nuns to support their business. You will visit a local family in Xian to make dumplings with them and enjoy an authentic home-cooked meal. This will allow you a chance to have a glimpse of the local people’s lifestyle and mind
