And not everyone needs to do the same thing: it's perfectly possible for the kids to have ski school and parents to have their own activity program, before meeting up in the afternoons. That means every member of the family can enjoy the experience they want in Finland.

Arriving into the capital, Helsinki, you’ll travel north by train to the central Finland city of Oulu, from where it’s a two-hour transfer to your base for the week. Your adventures start with a husky farm, but rather than just visiting, as many trips do, you’ll actually stay overnight at the farm. This is a fab opportunity to learn more about the lives of huskies, to help care for the dogs, and to practise your own mushing technique! The dogs are well looked after and love to run through the snow. You'll mush out to a cosy wilderness cabin to spend the night, perhaps witnessing the Northern Lights if you're lucky.

Moving on to a comfortable ski hotel, you’ll have an enticing range of activities to choose from for the rest of the week. Will you take to the pistes on skis or snowboards? Lessons can be arranged. Will you learn how to snowshoe, or perhaps try out a fat bike? It’s up to you

Ideal for children aged seven and up, this is a tailor made tour, so you can shape the itinerary however you like. You can also arrive into or leave from the Lapland capital of Rovaniemi (and reputed home of Father Christmas), to spend some time among its many family-friendly attractions too.
