Cantering on the hills and in the woods and finding a nice place to rest at the end of the day.

Go only if you can ride sufficiently well, it’s not for beginners.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Horse riding is definitely more sustainable than driving...

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Very good.

Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.

Planet

All paper, plastic, metal and food waste is recycled. Horse manure is used in local gardens to grow vegetables. Single use plastic is banned on all Riding Holidays. Customers bring their own refillable water bottles or can purchase these on arrival. All lunches are supplied in reusable containers. Customers carry all their rubbish with them. Where ever possible the operator seeks to protect and enhance the local environment. Regularly campaigning to protect the beautiful and nationally important hills and mountains of Mid Wales from wind turbine industrialisation.

We are obsessive and passionate about horse welfare. Our herd management system aims to provide the best possible life for the animals in our care and is industry leading;

All horses live outside all of the time, they are never stabled or put in tiny pens.
All horses live as part of a herd all of the time.
All horses have a 5 month ‘holiday’ where they do not work and are turned out on large areas of land living as a herd.
Their diet consists of local sourced grass, hay and hard feed only.
Horses are wormed and loused minimally and regularly.
Tack is minimal, new and comfortable – it’s professionally fitted to each horse individually. All horses ridden in snaffles only.
We travel the area on horseback instead of by vehicle.

The office is now paperless as far as possible. PDF info of trails now available with full details and live booking on our website.
