1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The hikes, the group, the Albanians, and experiencing a country that is often misunderstood by people who don't know it. The scenery is stunning.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Ensure you have a reasonable level of fitness - some of the walks are quite hard. If you are lucky enough to have Geri as the guide these walks are done at a steady pace with plenty of breaks. On a practical level print off your return flight ticket as there is some confusion whether Tirana airport accept tickets on your mobile.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Absolutely - we used small bars and guest houses in the mountains that were owned by locals.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Absolutely brilliant - highly recommend this holiday.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The scenery

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

The hotels were all a reasonable quality: no need to take towels/soap etc. No facilities in any of them to make a hot drink.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Our spending probably helps locals, however, our environmental impact is not good. The vehicles use were old diesels, there was a lot of bottled water and cans of fizzy drink sold and unfortunately left as litter. Koman lake we went on had loads of litter and diesel pollution. Our presence didn’t support conservation: more building of hotels means less land left for wild flowers .

Hello Lesley, Thank you for your feedback and we are glad you had a great time with us. Regarding your comments on question 3 I wanted to provide you with some more back ground and information. As a walking tour, this trip naturally has one of the lowest carbon footprints. However, we remain committed to reducing our environmental impact wherever possible. I will discuss with our ground agent the use of diesel vehicles and explore options for more sustainable alternatives in future departures. We encourage our customers to use reusable water bottles which we do sell on our website - Water to go if you would like more details lease do visit our website. We are committed to avoiding areas suffering from over tourism. As one of the pioneers of organised travel to Albania, we aim to bring tourism to lesser-known areas and supporting economic development in remote regions. With Albania growing in popularity as a tourist destination in 2024, we are continuously evaluating our impact on local communities, both internally and in collaboration with our ground agents. Any further questions do let us know and we hope to have you back with us soon.
