1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
It was an especial privilege to be able to do the Theth to Valbona hike. The best views I have earned with my own two feet!2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
If you are leaving from Tirana airport, and arriving there by car/taxi, please note that it could take at least 30 minutes to get to Departures from the time you arrive in the airport complex. The traffic is really really heavy. For the paddle boarding, if you have any tendency to sunburn, make sure you take long trousers or something else to cover your legs and feet as you will be sitting on the board out in the sun for some hours, and any sun block will get washed off as you get wet. Even our local guide did this. Be flexible - for instance, we didn’t do the biking, as it was too hot, but instead we went to a mask factory, which was fascinating.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
We noticed how all the places we stayed/ate in were owned by locals, so we felt that we were genuinely feeding in to the local economy (hopefully!).4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
If I could give this trip more than 5 stars I would. A wonderful visit to a beautiful and fascinating country. We (myself and my three nearly-grown-up children) had a fantastic time, thanks in large part to our excellent guide Alfie, whose knowledge of and passion for his country was such a bonus.Holiday Reviews
