1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Brilliant holiday so varied that there isn't one highlight. Beautiful helpful people.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Be prepared for some long bus journeys some on unmade roads in older mini bus type vehicles. Be prepared for tropical rain at any time and anywhere. Check your itinerary carefully ( we had a hotel booked for a night we weren't there!!)

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

I think we contributed to tourism in general, having guides leaving tips, eating in restaurants.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Overall fabulous, well organised and the tour company very responsive. A few little niggles which were resolved locally i.e booked into double rooms when we wanted twin rooms and an extra night not required !!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Visiting Medellin especially Comuna 13 Deb- Bus travel through the country during day. Fruit fruit fruit!! Howling Monkey trek from Cartagena - organised independently Comuna 13 tour - organised independently.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Start in Bogotá and work north. Use buses internally where possible. Add free days to schedule in north to rest (with pool).Take decent lightweight walking clothes and buy a good waterproof poncho & brolly.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Overall yes.The local tour guides were knowledgeable, we travelled by bus, stayed in small hotels and visited a family coffee plantation practicing permaculture.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Great communication from the operator - all transfers, accommodation, flights worked seamlessly so no need to use their emergency contacts! We would highly recommend this company.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Salento , the Cocora-Estrella valley, the rosario islands, Minca and Cartagena.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

It’s a huge country so if you want to travel around to different places be prepared for long journeys. Even if you take domestic flights it still takes up most of the day so aim to stay at least 3 nights in each location otherwise you don’t see enough. Also don’t stay in down town Bogota !!! It’s dangerous at night. Stay in Zona Rosa and take a taxi to and from there to the old town each day . Don’t stay in the old town after dark. A visit to the salt cathedral is only worthwhile if you are religious I feel and there is an awful underground shopping centre down there too !!

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

All the guides we had were local people who told us that their lives had improved by the fact that they worked in tourism. Conservation is something for the government to regulate I feel as so much rubbish is just dumped on the side of roads. Tourism is still young in Colombia, if it’s managed well everything will be fine. Young Colombians working in tourism in the rural areas are very aware of protecting the environment.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

It was amazing and fantastic! The trip of a lifetime ! The organisation by the company was brilliant which meant that we could sit back and enjoy all the experiences Colombia had to offer.
