1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Geirangerfjord excursion and RIB trip to Salstraumen

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Find out exactly how long you are at port, as sometimes you have plenty of time to wander about and don’t need to book an excursion. We were given bad advice that you did need an excursion or might not get back on boat in time. Whilst this is sometimes the case, there were a couple of trips we need not have booked. We could have easily walked to where we wanted to and back with no issues.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes local guides used frequently. Boat has reduced carbon emissions

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

There was no vegan options for food. I had told them I was vegan and the ship was supposed to know and be ready for me. They were not. I had no choices and ate the same thing again and again. I was extremely disappointed. My mother, who is not vegan, also was disappointed with the lack of variety and very small portions. She is not a big eater, but we were both frequently hungry.

Hello Janet. Thank you for your feedback on this cruise and I am sorry to hear that the food didn't meet with your expectations. We had informed the ship that you are a vegan, and i am trying to find out why they didn't act on this information. I am surprised to hear about your mothers experience as the feedback that we have had from other guests , and in fact from our own staff member, was that the food on board was excellent. Being a Norwegian ship I know that there is a lot of fish on offer and perhaps that isn't to everyone's taste, but I am surprised to hear that the portions were so small - I have looked at the menus for the cruise and there appears to be a reasonable choice - albeit for non-vegan passengers. The ship's managers have said the following "I am sorry that your guests were unsatisfied with the food offering, we generally receive a very high level of very positive feedback. I do recognise that the Vegan offering is limited and it is something that has now been raised and is being addressed as we look to update the menus. We want everyone to enjoy their Holiday on board our ship and see food as a vital aspect to that so we will always look to learn from feedback so the food can be a highlight of everyone’s trip. Due to the resources , the nature of the kitchens and our focus on limited food waste we are unable to offer anything that falls much outside of the menus . "I believe that the menu offered changes every few days depending on the region you are sailing through, so as to better use local produce and to provide a wider choice and that each evening you are provided with a 3 course meal with a choice of 4-6 starters and mains. We have now added a sample menu to the sales information to clarify what is available.

Hello Donna. Thank you for your feedback, I am delighted to see you enjoyed your holiday. The vessel that you joined provides a vital link to the many small communities up and down the coast that have no other transport links to the outside world, so just by joining this cruise you were helping to sustain these communities. Additionally all of the food on board is sourced locally so once again those communities will benefit from the revenue derived from selling their produce as well as the employment and income generated in the communities from the excursions.
