We really loved Bhutan. The country is beautiful, the landscapes so gorgeous, the people are warm, welcoming and interested in sharing information about their country. The most exciting part was seeing places like the Potala Palace in Lhasa, walking up to the Tiger's Nest Monastery in Bhutan. It was great that all the visas were handled by this operator in Nepal, so all I had to do was book my flight, pay and turn up!read more

Bhutan is clean, orderly and pretty quiet compared to India. Try to get some local bushwalks in to your itinerary. Do visit the wildlife rescue park in Thimpu where you will see the national animal Takin. Excellent.read more

Excellent. The population made us feel welcome, plus the level of service offered was higher than anywhere else in the world I have been.. lunches in local farmhouse were on the whole excellent and with local menu.read more

It was a wonderful trip from start to finish. If I had to pick something out I would say that it was the Black-Necked Crane festival which was so colourful and vibrant. Also the hike up to the Tigers Nest Monastery which was absolutely amazing. read more

Our most memorable day stated with us watching women playing darts on their village green then hiking to a temple cut out of the cliff-face that no other 'tourists' were visiting. But we also enjoyed having a discussion with a local family while we cooked dinner together and we won't forget being 'blessed' by a monk in the family's house the next day!read more

Visiting the Gangtse valley where we stayed two nights so we could spend a day hiking. There was a glacial valley where black necked cranes overwinter. Felt we engaged with the local Buddhist culture and appreciated the way its' values inform the way that local people behave and their courtesy towards visitors as they know that tourist tax benefits Bhutan.read more

My tour guide and driver were very good and Bhutan itself was magical. In particular, even I prepared extensively for this trip I learned a great more about Buddhism and its philosophy from my guide. read more
