1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Strasbourg. Seems weird that on a Germany trip we loved a place in France best but that's how it was. Wine tour guide was sensational as is the town. Michelle also adored the hotel there. Mojca kinda pushed for this excursion which was one of many things they did well. Munich guide was also excellent. Other guides were very good, these stood out. Food tour lady was hampered by the fact that we don't love German food (and our last 2 trips were to northern Spain and Japan so the bar was very high) but the tour itself was good.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
As for any other trip, the better you know and define what you want, the better your experience will be.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Other than using public transportation for 99% of the trip I can't think of anything other than that we spent money there.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
While Germany was not my favorite place to visit we still had a great time. Our main takeaway is how great we thought the tour operator was. I was somewhat vague on what I wanted in hotels but for the most part they seemed to read my mind. I don't mean to slight any of the other agencies we've worked with through you, nearly all of them have been great, but these guys (ladies) were fantastic. We were leaving Munich on our way to Strasbourg and had to change trains, I believe in Stuttgart. On the way I got a text from GCT saying "we noticed your train left late. If you miss your transfer, here is the next best train to take"! We were floored. Fortunately we made the train but knowing we had a plan if we missed it was reassuring. They booked all aspects of the trip, had our money and could have left it at that, without any complaints from us. But to care while the trip was going on? The cooking class in Como with Vincenzo and Stefanie, and hiking Zermatt.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
If you enjoy hiking and not tourist attractions, skip Trummelbach Falls and Lauterbrunnen and spend more time at Giessbach Falls3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Not so sure.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
The trip was excellent. Only changes that we would make is to add a day to see Zurich, hire a driver to go from Zermatt to Como (we had to take trains back to Zurich before getting a train to Como so spent 7 hours travelling) and would select a different hotel than the Daniela in Zermatt.Holiday Reviews
