1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The Northern Lights!! We were so lucky!! It was absolutely amazing!!! The huskies were so very sweet and we loved meeting them. Mushing was fun!!2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
You will be well taken care of in every aspect by Riitta. Cold weather clothing, food (so delicious and plentiful), transporting us everywhere with her expert snow driving, and nicely paced activities.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes. It was interesting to learn about the Sami people. Both the reindeer farm and husky safari were very small-scaled and family-run. The Siida museum was very informative, I really enjoyed it.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Fantastic. So much fun. Finnish Lapland is so very beautiful. We will be visiting again soon.Alison Worthington review 23 Feb 2025
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The Husky Safari although it was all amazing. To be taken through such beautiful land by the dogs was a fantastic experience. Also the delicious soup they cooked for the lunch round a fire.We loved hearing all their stories too.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Make sure you leave some time just to enjoy being there - in the cabin or just the surrounds. We wanted to do a lot of things so added a day. Managing the extreme cold takes a bit of getting used to. We found with all our layers and the suit they provide we got too hot but they were definitely needed for activities where we were just sitting e.g. the safaris. Hand and foot warmers were good for the long events.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes there were lots of local people working there and looking after their animals - i.e. the reindeer and huskies. They were very environmentally aware and we never saw any litter. We ate locally produced meat and fish.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
We had wanted an adventure, to do new things and to have wonderful memories. The trip fulfilled all of these. We had an amazing holiday.Bernadette Roebuck review 19 Jan 2025

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
This is one of the most memorable holiday we have been on as a family of 5. We went there partly to see the Northern Lights. We did not see them but what we found there was so unique. Of course, the husky safari and the reindeer safari under the stars were clear highlights and 'once in a lifetime' experiences, but the most striking part of the trip was how warm and welcoming the local team was. Everything felt very natural and authentic, people were kind and respectful. Everything was clean and comfortable.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
I would definitely use this operator. Riitta was so nice and responsive.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, whilst there was some seasonal staff, many employees were local. It is a tight knit team where passion for their home is obvious. We felt very much close to nature and wildlife. The food was wholesome and mostly local, which we very much appreciated. The meals were diverse and excellent.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The most memorable and exciting part of our holiday was snowshoeing 2KM in -30 up into the hills at 9pm at night to see the Northern Lights, It ws so magical. Our guide was not only extremely knowledgable, but made it fun for all of us. Including my 9 and 10 year old boys who were a little nervous to start. To be honest, the 4 hours snowmobiling to the Ice hotel, snow village was just incredible also, hard to pick!2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Be prepared to wear many layers and ideal if you are fit, lots of energy is needed to every activity. It might have been the extreme temperature, but it was honestly perfect.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, We did. This was the villages busiest time for them and it was not that busy. Finland is already a very conscious country when it comes to the environment so we made sure to follow suit.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
One of the best we have every taken. Our organiserr, Riitta Kiukas not only did a wonderful itinerary for us, but had excellent communication throughout and we felt like she was there for us at all times!Felicity Fletcher review 23 Mar 2023
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The scenery, charming people and the huskie ride. The hot-tub was amazing too2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Clothing is provided for the organised trips but you need very warm, waterproof clothing for moving round the wilderness park. the last day trip from a different park was less well organised so we sat and waited in reception and then found the trip was ready to leave. Not enough time for introduction to snowmobile3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, the staff were local or came in for the tourist season. Food appeared local and gifts etc were Finish4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Brilliant even though we did not see the Northern lightsVal Walker review 26 Feb 2023

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
In general - the most memorable was the world where space is open, air is clean and pace is the nature's pace; A particular experience - riding with super excited huskies and hearing the stories of their committed guides / caretakers.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Stick with the recommendations of Riitta, don't book too many activities a day, take your time and talk to people you meet. Enjoy the space and celebrate nature.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
The trip focused on activities with minimal footprint (minimal motorized vehicles for example) and on areas that need help in conservation (especially after corona impact), e.g. reindeer and husky.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Dog sleighing2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Go later in the year for a warmer experience. Don't take children under 8. Take plenty of warm layers of clothing. Don't try it if you are vegetarian! Don't bother with ice fishing!3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Benefitted locals4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Amazing! Would have liked to meet Sami people and ask about their culture and see their craft workRead the operator's response here:
This family traveled in early January. We recommend indeed families with small children under 8yrs to travel to Lapland in March-April when days are longer and milder. The Lappish food consists of reindeer meat, game, fish, mushroom, and berries. Vegetarian options are, however, well available.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
It was all fantastic so it is really difficult to single out one thing. From the first contact with Responsible Travel who put us in touch with their local operator in Finland, our trip was tailored to our requirements and it all went like clockwork throughout. My 14 year old son loved all the activities we tried, but particularly enjoyed driving the husky team for 18 km. I found the Sami dinner with the reindeer herder fascinating, and this was followed by a reindeer sleigh ride. All of the guides were very friendly, very engaging and knowledgeable: we learnt a lot of new things and gained an appreciation of the local culture. But if I had to choose my most memorable moments from the trip, it would be the simple act of walking in the most beautiful scenery in the snow covered forests.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Use hand and feet warmers for anything which is not physically active - the coldest we had was minus 25. Take advantage of the ice suits for anything at night or involving speed (eg snow mobiling; husky safaries).3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
