I loved the olive and tropical fruit farm visit. It was real, not touristic, and wandering through olive groves to a tasting table was great. Also the wine tasting with food matching up Etna2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Yes, but the 2 hotels in the B&B chain rather overplayed the don’t use electricity, water, etc in notices that frankly made us feel it was their bottom line behind the exhortations.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Rosanna was a great trip leader; she was really helpful and knowledgeable. I loved the city stays and the buffalo farm visit, especially, but all was really interesting.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
This is quite fast paced, despite the periods driving lots was packed in. Consider adding on days for private visits in Palermo, Catania and a visit to Syracusa.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
I understand it does and there were certainly many opportunities to purchase local produce, from the makers.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Trips to the olive and buffalo farms and the Marsala winery. The visit to the Villa Romana.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
This tour was great fun - the food experiences were great. Oh and take a warm jacket for the walk on Etna - it’s high and we were quite chilly up there!3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
We visited a lot of food producers and bought street food from local stalls so yes I think the holiday did benefit local people.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

To appreciate the amount of coach travel between each hotel. To be prepared to walk up some quite steep inclines. Judging on how others in the group coped I think the mobility level needs to be higher. Enjoy all the wonderful food3. As there are no evening plans, do some research in advance so that you find the best places to eat (and drink). But there’s plenty planned during the day and I never felt hungry!3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
As this was a European holiday (as opposed to a third world country) I didn’t feel the same level of local benefits. Naturally the guide and the driver were Sicilian4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Content excellent but you do need to be moderately fit as Sicily is extremely mountainous, hills can not be avoided they provide you transport, which they did when needed, but means you miss the on foot experience. I was ok . Take hand sanitiser and insect repellant.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, guide clearly knew lots of people and took business to them. Not so sure about supporting conservation but Sicilian towns clearly took recycling seriously.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Loved food and drink content, except cheese making farm which seemed not completely hygenic to me. Archaeology excellent. Personally there was too much sitting during travel which I found very uncomfortable due to heat which was more than I expected in September. Would have much preferred getting about out of doors as in Roman villa visit. I would look for a more physically active food experience with less miles travelled next time. Probably others enjoyed it more than me. All guides were excellent, as was our leader.Holiday Reviews
