1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

I think the dessert barbeque can not be beat as a once in a lifetime experience.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Don't hesitate to ask the staff for help when needed. They are present but not intrusive so it is important to let them know if there are any concerns. I have seldom felt so cared for by a hotel.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

The hotel staff were doing their best to clean up tables quickly so nothing blew into the sea. Also they had a seperated waste manage system that was accessible to all. The large local staff that seem to be more than happy working. I was not disappointed to have given them my business.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

It was a wonderful week that went by much too quickly.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Swimming along the easily accessible reef from the hotel beach - never tired of that and the amazing array of marine life. The lovely, interesting multi cultural people we met. The landscape is so different from anything we had experienced before and stunning. Scuba diving for the first time.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Take minimum luggage - reef friendly sun cream, snorkel and a change of simple, practical clothes. Switch off your phone for the trip, slow down and immerse yourself in the experience of Dahab and it's people. It's a great place to pick up snorkel and diving gear. Get to know the people and the culture.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes, in one word. We were able to use/drink all our water from the large water cooler in our room reducing single use plastic. We were asked to take reef friendly sun cream. The operator arranged a trip for us with local Bedouin to take us on an evening supper and visit to a canyon - a simple, authentic experience rather than the bigger more commercial tourist trips. Small group of us and really memorable. The staff were all Egyptians. Egypt economy is in a very poor state. We took sterling cash and changed it when we needed it to benefit the locals. Sterling, Euro's and US$ are particularly secure currency and worth more to most of the locals. They are really restricted by the Egptian banks. We bought snacks and local items from the local shops in the town. We met some great store owners most especially the local spice/nut stalls.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Truly memorable, we fell in love with Dahab, the hotel and people. We will most definitely be returning more than once which is extremely rare for us.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Seeing the bright colours and sheer numbers of different fish and corals under the sea was incredible - an experience I shall never forget.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

This trip taught me you're never too old to do something completely new and out of your comfort zone. The instructor we had was amazing - professional, reassuring and patient - she taught me so much!

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

A little. It was good to see local people running the dive centre and the PADI course taught a lot about protecting the underwater environment.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Excellent - a great experience and good value. The accommodation was lovely and the food was fantastic.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Doing my Open Water Diver certificate while watching the most amazing sea life, especially swimming with a turtle! Plus Egyptian breakfast on the beach, sunset at the Lighthouse, the wonderful rug decor and hammocks at the relax areas, not to mention the hippy vibe of Dahab.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Change £100 at a cash machine when you arrive, as you pay for lunches in Egyptian currency. Have your evening meals right at the hotel!

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Local people are employed in most roles. No plastic - even the 'please clean my room' sign is made of wood. Beach loungers and seating is all wooden and covered with rugs. I loved having my own water cooler in the room. Serving no fish supports ocean life.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

I feel that I've found my paradise here. My diving instructor looked after me so well, and it was safe for a woman to walk alone in the evening. I loved the quiet, peaceful vibe at the hotel. The freshly made food delivered to my table on the beach was fabulous every night, and affordable. Everyone couldn't do enough to help me. I'm planning to return often.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Diving at the canyon- just thousands of multicoloured fish flitting over multicoloured coral

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes, the company employ local people. The beach cafe doesn't serve fish (to reduce pressure on the reef) and all water comes from filters to use fewer plastic bottles.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Excellent! Brilliant diving- all easy access shore dives. Ahmed who was guiding my dives was brilliant- he could spot a seahorse at a hundred metres and find stonefish amid identical rocks! The accommodation was lovely, breakfast was amazing and the private beach fantastic for snorkelling from.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

A glorious combination of a low key friendly and welcoming atmosphere combined with some simple but delicious homemade food, clean and simple accommodation and wonderful scuba diving with a fantastic teacher.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Don’t expect frills. Do expect a genuine warmth and an unpretentious environment. The family who run this place love it and look after the people who visit as if they are family. too. It and they are very very special.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes I do. They employ local people, they have banned single use plastic and they are contributing to helping keep the Red Sea from coral die out. It’s a battle. Plastic is a global enemy.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

I travelled alone as a woman and I’ve rarely felt more comfortable or relaxed. One of the best holidays I’ve ever had. And my dive instructor Ahmed was brilliant. As was the diving. Highly recommended.
