1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Stan and his wife G are kind and generous hosts who couldn’t do enough to ensure we all had an amazing holiday. From transfers to booking trips, from home cooked meals to expert local advice, this really is an extra special company who provide an outstanding friendly and professional service. We have two teenagers who are often hooked to their phones, but they spent the whole week laughing and talking with us and the other guests, and they absolutely loved the tours and wild trips in the beautiful Dormitur National Park. This is a beautiful place, still unspoiled by tourism and the trips Stan organises are led by excellent guides and give the whole family a chance to push themselves in nature. We did canyoning, zip wires, treks, climbing and rafting and each one was totally memorable. We cannot thank Stan and G enough for this holiday of a lifetime and we have all fallen in love with Montenegro! Thank you so much for giving us such thrilling and happy memories.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Loved the canyoning and the Via Ferrata the most. Both were well organised and had experienced guides who helped you through all aspects of the activity if you needed it. I couldn't stop smiling through the whole experience! They also took photos the whole time and you were sent them afterwards which was a bonus. All activities were enjoyable though and all had their own highs. We didn't really know what to expect each day but we were either dropped off at the start of the day or collected by the activity organisers and taken back to camp afterwards. Lunch was provided daily which was often a feast but well received after burning off lots of calories. Stan and his wife 'G' were amazing hosts and went out of their way to assist you with any requests. They make you feel as though you are family and it was lovely sitting with them at the end of each day discussing how the activity went and any other topic that came up. G is an amazing cook and we received a welcome meal and later in the week a traditional Montenegrin meal. Communication from Stan from the time of booking was exceptional. There were two other groups staying at base camp with us and we did most of the activities together, this added to the whole experience.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Be prepared to be active every day and to face a challenge if you haven't done the activities before. You will be tired but it's an exhilarated tiredness and you will look forward to the next day! Depending on the holiday chosen, ask Stan prior to leaving what clothing/footwear is advised. For example, the via ferrata you were recommended a long sleeve top and the horse riding longer bottoms. The summit climb appropriate trekking boots/trainers.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
All activities are either taken by Stan or arranged with local businesses and Stan and G are very passionate about supporting the local community and economy.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Amazing! You won't regret making a booking with this operator and holidays can be tailor made to suit if you want to tweak the activities slightly. The Durmitor National Park is stunning. We didn't want the holiday to end!Ray Butler review 13 Jul 2024
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Canyoning and quad biking - both were the best version of this activity I’ve done, just the right length and difficulty. Both are great for older kids, and adults alike.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Overall a great mix of activities for older kids and adults. Stan tries to accommodate everyone, this means you may not do everything as a group, which may not necessarily benefit single travellers, but is great for a couple/small group/family.For some unknown reason we didn’t quite go to the summit on the summit trekking activity, just a viewpoint a few hundred metres before it, which was a bit annoying (Stan was going to look into why).Don’t bother taking rock shoes for the rock climbing, there is no rock climbing - it is a via Ferrata. The via Ferrata is a great one for beginners though, and the guide is very experienced on it. I love via Ferrata and this was short but sweet. Just don’t expect it to be rock climbing, it isn’t!3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Stan and Goca try to use local guides, and recommend local places to eat etc. Apart from the drive up from the airport and back, the travel is minimal which both saves time and reduces carbon footprint.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
A great trip, with a well-balanced mix of adrenaline activities and decent (if sometimes slightly rough around the edges) accommodation. There’s also often time in the afternoon for downtime, swimming in the Black Lake, biking etc. Stan and Goca are very welcoming and try to accommodate everything you need. Thanks for a good week.Clare Bates review 11 Aug 2024
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
All of the activities! From the via ferrata to the big hike and canyoning, it was full of adventure, we had great fun. The trips were so well organised and the guides were very knowledgable. We even had 2 trips where it was just the two of us with the guide, like a private tour! The other trips with other people were just as enjoyable though, getting to know like-minded people and encouraging each other throughout.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Be prepared for the weather to change quickly! From beautiful clear skies and scorching sun through the mornings and early afternoons, to huge storms and power cuts through the late afternoons and early evenings - it is the mountains after all! It wasn’t an issue though, just added to the character, maybe just bring something to entertain yourselves but the storms do pass! Pack clothing and footwear suitable for an active holiday, hiking gear in particular. We went in July so hiking shorts and vests were fine but pack a layer or two in case of adverse weather and cooler evenings. You won’t need anything overly smart so choose to spend your suitcase space on hiking boots! Lastly - only choose the big hike if you are physically fit! A challenge for sure but worth it!3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, they used local guides and drivers and encouraged use of the stores and walks in the local area. One of the guides in particular was conscientious about people disrespecting the resident wildlife and gently advised them of their behaviour which was good to see. It would be unrealistic to reduce the travelling to the activities but the journeys are relatively short and grouped as much as possible. Although sad to see, even the local stray dogs may have benefited from our stay :-D4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Great trip and great people. The whole trip was well planned and thought out, the hosts were very accommodating and welcoming, they really looked after everyone and couldn’t have done more for us all, taking us to the stores, providing us with supplies, assisting with translation when needed and cooking some lovely meals! So friendly and hospitable so a shout out to Stan and G! Even in the communication leading up to booking Stan was great with responding to any queries and willing to do what he could to tailor the trip. In transparency, the only downside was the ground floor apartment had a damp issue but the hosts explained about this and not everything can be perfect! (Would otherwise give 5 stars!) Everything else was spot on and as described and some of the activities surpassed our expectations, wish we could have stayed longer. Would use them again and will recommend to others.Melissa Martyn review 16 Jun 2019

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The scenery in Durmitor National Park is spectacular and unspoilt, Our host Stan and his wife were excellent, nothing was an inconvenience and the activities were all arranged and ran like clockwork.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Do fly in to a Montenegro airport as the transfer from Croatia is very long and can be delayed at the border crossings.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, activities were all run by local business's. On some activities such as Horse Riding and Quad Biking you have the opportunity to buy local produce from the cafe owners such as home produced honey. This certainly benefits the locals.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Excellent, the activities can be structured to your capability, everyone is friendly and helpful and once again Stan and his Wife were excellent hosts. If you are considering an activity holiday and want spectacular scenery and to feel secure, then book this one, it was excellent fun.Marisa Steyn review 8 Aug 2017
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Our family enjoyed waking up everyday to a different outdoor adventure in beautiful Durmitor - without having to organise anything ourselves! Pick-up, and drop-off, lunch, activities and suggestions for free time, are all well planned by Stan. (We jokingly referred to the all-access password as: 'Stanco'). First place definitely goes to canyoning - an unforgettable experience. The local guide - friendly mountain rescuer Micky - was more than professional: When our 10-year old turned very cold half-way through the trip, Micky had him in his arms down jumps and glides for almost half-an-hour. The sight of a 8m jump into the water, had our son active again..! I did a day's horse-riding while my son and husband took to quad biking - which they loved! The riding was great, especially as it was only the guide and myself, so we could set the pace. The horses are well trained and follow commands nicely - especially 'gallop'. Our day trekking through the Durmitor forest and around the two black lakes was also a highlight.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Be ready for being active everyday - it might seem logical but a few of our fellow-guests were not prepared for the level of activity especially in the high altitude. Kids are welcome! Stan has numerous suggestions when families want to spend a day doing different activities. No need to bring food and drink - Stan makes a stop at the local, and only, supermarket in the village, before arrival. Lunch is included most days and the village boasts a few very good restaurants - and at a good price! If you're a serious coffee drinker - Stan can resolve that too with his morning Turkish coffee.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Having had most of our meals at local eateries, did definitely benefit the local economy. All activities are organised and guided by local businesses, so yes to that one as well. Hopefully the very small fee for entering the National Park, can help towards further conservation. Regarding reduced environmental impacts, I'm not so sure - tourists leave footprints in different ways: Not everyone is waste - food and rubbish - conscious and the lack of public rubbish bins does not help. But it is inspiring to see and hear the love and knowledge the local peoples have for their natural environment.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Each family member had different expectation, most was met and some were beyond expectation. We wanted a family activity holiday in nature, somewhere where we've not been before, and that's what we got!April Bouaoudia review 28 Jul 2017

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
We arrived as guests and left feeling like family, we were taken care of as though we were lifelong friends. Taxi'd to supermarket, advice on things to do, homemade baked treats, activities booked even outside of our stay with them.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Canyoning was amazing, the guides are fantastic and the scenery beautiful. Whitewater rafting was a waste of money going in August, water was low and slow and more like floating down a river slowly in a raft. Quite disorganised and time was wasted. I'd say something else should maybe be offered instead of this at this time of year. You dont get wet or need to wear any equipment other than lifejacket and tiny children were going on so not white water at all really sadly. Bit miss sold!! Try and fly direct to Montenegro where possible. We wasted 5 hours in a 10 hour transfer for what should have been a 3 hr transfer in a hot car as the croatian border made us wait 5 hours in border crossing queue due to going so slowly, this could be avoided by trying to go direct on a sun rather than sat flight. It was unfortunately a very busy time of year and we caught the worst of the queues. There are 2 quite large apartments with single beds and 1 smaller one with a double bed.3. Everything was booked with local guides and the family themselves seemed to help and support the community in lots of ways, even collecting hundreds of egg boxes to enable a local lady to sell her eggs!4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
It was wonderful, stan and his family could not have done more for us. Don't be worried about having to bank transfer its just because he is a family business. Stan runs the mountain biking and trekking trips and then books in with companies to do bigger things like rafting and canyoning when you mix in with others. When at Stan's its only those staying that week so you become quite close. Their children came up for the week which was lovely, theres a nice communal place to eat and play games, its a nice set up but is quite a long drive from the airport 3-4 hrs. We would definitely go again such wonderful company and people who went the extra mile. We would class it as self catering plus due to little extras we were given through the week.Holiday Reviews
