1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Muncar fishing village, and the Kaliklatak Plantation. Ijen volcano.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Be flexible. We tweaked the itinerary some days to make the best of the weather. Be prepared to get up at 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning to get the best of the day, just go to bed early.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Cycling around the rice fields, waterfall trip, Komodo Island experience of land and sea.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Skip the Parangitis beach excursion. It’d also avoid traffic jams.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes, our visits benefitted the locals eg traditional industries and jobs. It wasn’t particularly eco-friendly eg the same driver and car drove 6h one way to continue the trips in East Java. We understand this means continued services from the same crew but there must be an easier option? If the fact we visited national parks means the parks are kept in as good a condition, but our impression of Conservation is minimal as increasing tourism pollutes. We are not sure if the staff or locals are educated about environmental protection eg the resort guide who accompanied us for a snorkel actually kicked off some love coral twice much to my horror.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

We have, despite our thoughts above, enjoyed our fortnight in Indonesia tremendously. The planning stage was good and we felt listened to and Stephen was most helpful. It would be even better if the local travel agency has the exact same travel itenary in mind! Thankfully our local guide, Adeh, was resourceful and managed to optimise things for us.
