1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
So many highlights - a fabulous holiday in a beautiful country. Of course Petra is stunning, but also driving & walking around the desert in Wadi Rum, and swimming in the Dead Sea. Sunrise in the Asraq wetlands bird reserve. But all the marvellous meals in such friendly places.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Book your drivers and guides through a local agency, like this tour operator. They were so helpful. Bird watching is still developing in Jordan, so the sites don't yet have quite the infrastructure & support found in other countries. But it is improving. And the landscapes are stunning. Take a good ID book with you. We used Birds of the Middle East (a Helms Field Guide).3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes - particularly through using a local agency and guides, and eating in small local cafes. Jordan needs our visits now (and we felt completely safe and very welcome).4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

1. Remember that Jordan is a very Muslim country, so respect its conservatism and that it is often not possible to obtain a drink of alcohol. 2. Be aware of Ramadan; many restaurants/cafes may have restricted opening.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, hopefully. It is clear that much of Jordan has been adversely affected by the Covid restrictions imposed of Jordan itself and tourism generally. It was particularly good to stay at the local lodges at Azraq and Dana.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Very rewarding trip. Good weather throughout (Spring was a good time to visit). Mixture of wonderful scenery/architectural sites and nature reserves. Pity about so much litter everywhere!Holiday Reviews
