1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Meeting and connecting with so many people. Children in schools, weavers, dyers, salt workers, embroiderers, bead workers.... All of them with so much willingness to engage with us.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Go with an open mind. You'll meet some people living on the edge of society - you can't solve all their problems but you can do a little to help individuals. In January it was quite chilly in Kutch in the mornings and evening - take layers.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Absolutely. Niyati, our guide, is passionate about helping these people and reducing environmental impacts. An overnight train from Mumbai to Bhuj is better than flying, as well as much more fun.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Fantastic! I've been to India before but this time I felt I was really connecting with people. Niyati is known and loved by everyone we met. We were taught new skills and came home with multiple items we'd made. Sophie and Niyati have organisation down to a T. I felt very well taken care of - gentle reminders to use eye drops and keep drinking water in the extreme dryness of Kutch, eating in safe restaurants, helping us to cross mad Indian roads...
