1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

We got to see all the archaeological sites in Turkey that we wanted to with one trip. Highlights included Gobekli Tepe, Karahan Tepe and Mount Nemrud. It was also great to have a knowledgeable tour guide with Hasan who was open to any questions about the country, history and cultural aspects of what we were seeing.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Pack lightly and be prepared for long days. Its a big country and there is a lot of travel. Also, do some research in advance so that you understand the context of what you are seeing.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

yes. we ate in local restaurants, supported local businesses where possible.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

It was one of the best holidays we have ever taken and we travel quite frequently. It inspired us to see more parts of Turkey and this part of the world.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Visit to Goebekle Tepe, Karahan tepe and Chatal Hoyuk.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Make the most of the insufficient time available for these incredible sites.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

I certainly believe it benefited local people. However, I doubt that tourism as it currently operates can benefit the environment. Hotels use enormous quantities of paper, plastic, soaps and detergents which are wasteful. Tourists from the West waste most of the food they order at every meal, after ordering huge quantities even when they know they are are not hungry.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

I enjoyed my holiday, did what I could best do to avoid all kinds of waste and learnt as much as I could about the local language, figures of speech, customs, food, etc.

Thank you so much for your review Vijaya, we're so glad to hear that you enjoyed your holiday with us in Turkey. You're completely right that the structural issues within tourism make working towards more environmentally responsible difficult, and that these issues arise in Turkey at hotels and among travellers. We do our best to include services across the trip that are more responsible than other options, but of course there is always more work to be done so rest assured that this is something we are continuously working on. Thank you again for travelling with us to see the incredible sites that Eastern & Central Turkey has to offer.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Visiting Gobekli Tepe, Harahan Tepe, Hattusa, Gordion and the museums.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Most places will accept euros as well as lira. The food on offer is mainly meat so vegetarians or vegans will struggle except for salads.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

No

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

The trip was as expected from the itinerary. The tour group was only 8 people which suited me. The guides were knowledgeable and accommodating. I am very glad that I took the trip.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Turkiye is such a varied country that it's hard to pin down one part as most memorable, but I'll say Cappadocia was the highlight. The terrain is truly unique and Mustafa, our guide, was exceptional.

Relax, enjoy, and learn what you can about life in Türkiye.

I am hopeful that my travels benefitted local people.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Five stars!
