Magical, unforgettable, diverse, thought provoking, fun! All wonderful but visiting Danakil was magical - not just because of the surroundings but because the guides made it fun - eg allowing us to ride across the salt flats on the roof of the car. read more

Ethiopia is like nowhere else on earth that I have encountered. I've travelled to all 7 continents, volunteered in many and lost count of the number of times I've been to Africa. Be prepared to be very surprised and whatever floats your boat (mine is usually natural sciences, flora and fauna) these people, their history (not usually my thing at all) and culture will not cease to amaze you. read more

This is very difficult to answer because there are so many memorable aspects to the trip for example the hikes in the Simien mountains with all the monkeys, the Tigray church on the top of the cliff, the rock churches of Lalibela, the art work in some of the churches. read more

The most beautiful sight must have been the Blue Nile waterfalls, which were just awesome. Followed by Lalibela and Axum. The entire countryside, culture, sights and sounds are amazing too to see. read more

The Simeon Mountains where we were lucky enough to see 5 Ibex in one day with our wonderful interesting guide Desu ( who knew to much about the flora & fauna of the country as he was born there!) and the Bale Mountains were we spent a very lovely afternoon walking through the forest with a guide Hussain and saw so many animals Nyala, Reedbuck, Bushbuck and Wort hogs.read more
