1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
It was all fantastic but the main part was the sailing adventure. Amazing places and marine life. Who would have thought that Buffalo racing could be so addictive! The crew of the Katarina were excellent, nothing was too much for them making our holiday seamless.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Just go with the flow and be prepared to immerse yourself into everything that comes your way. You won't regret it. I didn't realise that the Indonesian islands were so far apart so be prepared for a lot of time sailing.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes. All local guides were used everywhere we went. All local produce was used as we sailed around the islands. We actively participated in creating new reef beds where dynamite fishing had been used in the past.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
My holiday was one of the best I have had and I would have no hesitation in recommending this operator to anyone looking to explore this part of the world.Mary Morgan-Stanhope review 25 Jun 2025
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Loved it all, especially Menjangen staying in the national park immersed in nature yet still living in luxury.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Don't waste time trying to sort visa in advance the website is useless. Everyone does the VOA , they are geared up for it at the airport and it is quick and easy, you just need to show the QR codes you will have been sent for completing the online forms for health, customs and sustainability fee. We didn't bother with data roaming just used the hotels wifi which was excellent. We used £500 cash for 2 of us for 2 weeks, for tips, occasional meals where card machine out of action, and pocket money. The guide and driver would have accepted tips in USD but we had rupiah to use up at the end. We did most of our souvenir shopping at community craft centres which took card payments, but sometimes paid in cash to use it up!3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Definitely. Especially at Munduk and Menjangen. Both hotels are providing employment and career opportunities for local people and working hard to support conservation . It motivates the young people to want to remain in the community and not abandon it for the cities. And also educates the community about conservation, which we found they were all passionate about. At Menjangen we both planted trees for the endemic tree planting scheme which is supported by the hotel. The hotel also supports the ocean litter picking and clearing harmful crustaceans which harm the coral. We even did some litter picking ourselves. At Munduk we went on the sustainability tour and saw the great work they are doing with the organic coffee plantation, natural sewerage system, vegetable garden, plastic upcycling workshop and language lessons for the local community. By staying at these hotels you are supporting their conservation work , and by having guests they are sharing their message in the wider world. its win win.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Wonderful, inspiring, win win.Jill Webster review 24 Sep 2024

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Tana Toraja region, Mount Bromo and surrounding area and the Komodo National park.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Study the distances and the time it takes to get from A to B carefully - distances are large. Bali has a serious traffic problem and is very much into mass tourism - outside Ubud the sights are great.Tana Toraja is a must see but it takes a long time to get there.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Benefited local people - as we used local guides. Indonesia has a serious plastic waste issue that needs addressing.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
We had a fantastic holiday that we will never forget. All the arrangements worked very well indeed.Nicola Lorimer review 25 Sep 2023
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Seeing Orangutans in the Tanjung Puting National Park, whilst staying/cruising around on a Klotok was the best experience. The orangutangs are fascinating and fun to watch! Staying on Sebayur Island in Komodo National Park was amazing - great chance to see Komodo Dragons then snorkel, kayak, swim etc in beautiful surroundings. Having the chance to cycle through the local area and take a train were really interesting ways to travel.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Be prepared for internal flights to change at short notice and itineraries change. Be adaptable! Leave enough time to make sure there's some downtime as there's a lot of travel and early starts involved.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
The holiday supported conservation as we visited the national parks which are helping to protect the animals and environment. There's clearly a lot of people employed in tourism which can have a beneficial affect locally.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
It was a great trip, incorporating a good blend of different activities, scenery, culture and relaxation. The hotels/accommodation were of a high standard and all the guides and people we met were really helpful. It was a great way to see the varied aspects of Indonesia.Holiday Reviews
