1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Two main highlights - the Sahara dessert was definitely the best bit of the holiday and we would have loved to spend more time there, perhaps doing a short trek to see more of this incredible and awe inspiring place. The other highlight was going to Mohammed's house and sharing in a mint tea which was very calming and a lovely, generous experience.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Be sure to prepare for chilly evenings, definitely need a jumper or two and note that drinks are not included so require some extra money. It is a cash-based society so worth getting dirhams from the airport when you land and note on arrival, the guide waits outside the main exit doors but once you leave you cannot return back into the terminal building. Also worth noting most places are dry and therefore limited alcohol available throughout.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes, certainly staying in some of the more local and authentic hotels seemed to support family based and small business owners which was brilliant. Not sure if we reduced environmental impact but definitely supported understanding around climate change and the impact it has on countries more at risk of consequences of drought for example.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

It was the most amazing experience - a real adventure and given us some incredible memories. Our guide (Younis) was outstanding and we shall remember 'yellah' for some time. Would definitely do again!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The lovely group & guide we traveled with and the activities…camel riding, quad bike riding, buggy riding, rock climbing and ballooning.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Ensure you bring activities to do on the bus… there are many hours of road travel… though there are many stops to try and break up the long distance bus rides.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Environment… we went through lots of bought water bottles… I think it would be best to include water as part of the trip.Just make clients have a water bottle & fill it each day from the biggest container the bus could carry, maybe try to have an animal component…eg donkey or dog program and set up something that helps the local animals and visit it as part of the trip.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

It was fantastic to be on an adventurous holiday with our boys… especially as they could share it with the many other kids that were doing the same holiday We barely saw our boys as they spent large amounts of time in the pool, playing games on the bus and sharing their meals with the other kids… thus giving us plenty of free time to enjoy our Morocca adventure.

Thankyou for your feedback about our Camels & Kasbahs 9 day family tour in Morocco. Regarding the bottled water, we are in partnership with Water To Go and offer a discount for clients to buy a filtered water bottle before you travel. This is our preferred method over buying bottled water from shops as it is not always possible to get a large water container into our minivans.Although there isn't time to visit the donkey sanctuary on this tour, our company pays towards a local donkey charity plus other animal charities. Our guide may not have shared enough information on this during the tour. Glad you all had a fantastic time overall and hopefully your friends will visit one day!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The camel ride and camp out in the Sahara. Plus having tea with a Berber family and spending time in Todra Gorge which was an oasis after the desert (literally!). Would suggest though that you offer the luxury camping experience in the Sahara to all your future guests. We were lucky enough to be upgraded from basic and wouldn’t have wanted to do it any other way. Definitely worth it even if you have to charge more.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Make sure to do the optional tour of Marrakech. We visited the Medina on our own the night before doing the tour with the guide and wouldn’t have discovered the best parts without the guide.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes - it was good to know that some of the tips went straight to the Berber family we visited. Also we were taken to some of the Cooperatives eg for Argan oil which supported women. Also learned that the Tuk Tuks in Marrakech are often driven by men with leg disabilities who are given a special license to operate who otherwise wouldn’t have the chance of employment so it’s good to use the Tuk Tuks rather than taxis.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

10/10. Couldn’t fault it though would have liked to have had an organised activity or something to see in Ouarzazate as we weren’t interested in either the film studio or the 4x4 drive.

We really appreciate your kind feedback and it will really help others looking to join this family tour. We will look in to other activity options in Ouarzazate so thank you for pointing this out. Thank you for travelling to Morocco with us.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Walking up and down Todra Gorge, seeing all the locals with their families having fun and cooling off in the stream.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Prepare to buy water bottles every day. It may have been better to go in September or October instead of July due to heat.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Very good.

Thank you for taking the time to provide great feedback! It is much appreciated. We do recommend buying a reusable bottle with a built in filtration system before you go on the tour to help reduce plastics. We are very happy you chose us for a family holiday to Morocco and had a very good time!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Stay at the Sahara Desert and a camel ride. Also all the hotels exceeded my expectations.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

It’s not challenging at all so no need really for big hiking boots, or lots of special gear. No mosquitos when we came May/June, WiFi access everywhere, even on the Sahara, prepare for a very dry climate, so lots of water and moisturiser, also sun cream is a must. Shops and stops everywhere, so even if you forget anything, you can buy.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

I feel the tour had a good relationship with the local traders met and they definitely benefit from the stops where we could purchase souvenirs. I wasn’t entirely sure about the carpet cooperative as although they said that 80% of profit goes to women I couldn’t see any evidence of this, and there was no way of checking it. I would prefer to have more reassurance that this is the case, rather than believing this is another ‘hoax’ where few men are filling their pockets with huge profits, rather than actually benefiting women who did most of the labour.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

It was excellent as a family trip. Perfect pace for the kids (11, 15), not too much driving each day (max 4-5 hours with stops), every hotel stay was a surprise and a wow as the facilities were great and all different, food was great, and I was really appreciative of accommodating for my and my kids complicated dietary requirements (vegan, gluten free, kids egg allergy and no beef). It wasn’t easy and food offered limited choice, but so it is when in UK or any other country. Be aware that allergies and vegan diet isn’t understood in Morocco, so it’s best to double check and be patient with mistakes (I was given tuna or egg, as this is what usually vegetarians eat, but vegan was beyond their comprehension, especially in remote places). However if you specify what you want (for example rice instead of cous cous, they are very happy to accommodate and make to order if possible. Our guide Hassan was always making sure to call the restaurant before and specify the requirements and make sure I don't go hungry.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us some feedback. It really does help us should we need to make improvements. I am so glad Hassan was able to help with the hotels and meal requirements where possible. It can be a challenge at times. We have used this carpet cooperative for many many years now and have a very good relationship with the whole family. Although they did not show proof of the womens benefits at the time, I will see if I can find out more information on this from our local team on the ground in Morocco. We are so pleased to hear that your family had an amazing tour and that the accommodation surprised you! Thanks again for travelling with us!
