Hi Liam, Thanks so much for your review. Question 3 is a difficult question for our clients to answer, as many of the areas in which these issues, benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation, are not always obvious to our clients. Our company directly employs local people. The hotels we use, along with the smaller accommodations, are managed by locals and employ local people. Any contractors that we use, are run by, or employ local people. We specifically book accommodation on B&B basis and encourage and recommend local cafes and restaurants for the clients to visit on their journey. The majority of food is locally sourced and seasonal in these establishments, as can be found in the supermarkets throughout the Algarve. The majority of the accommodation we chose for the clients have a sustainability statement, in addition, water saving is requested in all hotel rooms and renewable energy is widely used in the Algarve. Vegan, vegetarian and Gluten free dietary requirements are catered for at all accommodation we use. We provide each client with a refillable water bottle for their daily use and we use recycled paper for printing necessary documents. We also enclose publications from the tourism authority, such as Guide to Nature and 'get to know' titles. Our routes pass through Natural parks with conservation areas , e.g the Ria Formosa which has an ongoing conservation plan for Chameleons, e.g. highlighting areas to avoid allowing their habitat to remain undisturbed. We only provide designated tracks to cycle on in these areas. Travelling by bike to explore the Algarve, is in itself reducing environmental impacts. I hope this helps you know how your holiday did good for local people and places. Best wishes, Angie

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Spending time together with no distractions! Cycling through remote coastal countryside and sea swimming from fantastic remote pretty much empty white sandy beach locations.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Do your prep. Get the itinerary you want and speak regularly with the team to get the best advice when planning. Take less cloths than you think you need!

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes. Aside from the flights we used trains, buses & bicycles the whole way. We ate and shopped locally, used little but recycled everywhere.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Fantastic. Great support from the organisers. Great bikes we hired 2 mountain bikes, 1 of which was an e-bike - perfect for our needs. All the right bike & route kit to cycle hassle-free from A-B throughout the week. Cycled Algarve coast E-W, great experience, mix of roads & trails, some busyish N road cycling but hard shoulders wide enough and Portuguese drivers definitely more courteous than those in UK. Hotels all good 3-5 star for one night stays, not too busy and all had pool & good breakfasts. Great holiday, so much so we’re thinking of doing Lisbon to Sagres next.

Thank you for your review Sarah, we are very pleased to hear you enjoyed yourselves. Thank you also for your recommendation; there is the option of staying two nights in each location if required, we can always make adjustments in accordance to suit the clients wishes. Great to hear you had the opportunity to sample the famous Portuguese cakes, we hope you enjoyed the cafes and restaurants you experienced during your cycling adventure!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Just a really good break with good quality bikes in a very beautiful and friendly country. A good route which had the required changes in landscape which helps keep up interest. Good hotels and organisation with very good local food to sample.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

enjoy yourself

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

the encouragement to spend local particularly in the food sector will I hope help to keep income local and support local primary suppliers. This particular trip did not have conservation focus but cycling rather than motorised transport is lower footprint and as such will have lower impact on air quality etc

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Had a really great time and would recommend to anyone else. We were not particularly fit and the routes and lengths of the days worked out fine.
