1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Day 2 drive on the Great Ocean Road and all sightings of koala bears.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
To be aware that the Royal Mail hotel offered the most amazing location with the kangaroos in the grounds but at the same time it is a gourmet meal that took 3hours to serve., therefore the whole evening was devoted to eating. Also the wine price was an absolute ‘rip off’ at $52 for the smallest measure of 2 glasses of house red we have ever had. If we had not had company at the dinner then the time would have really dragged. The meal experience did not really fit the tour. The first night we had a very enjoyable good quality meal.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
The locations visited had good services e.g. toilets , litter bins. The guide was a local man to Melbourne who ensured we understood the local area and its development. We think that the Royal Mail hotel is elitist and therefore probably not of benefit to the local people. Because of the fire in the Grampians, we took the option of visiting Bellarat a reconstructed gold mine. This was a local resource and clearly benefitted many local people.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Very enjoyable, excellent friendly helpful guide . Gave lots of insights into Australian lifestyle, social history. Slightly disappointed because Grampians closed but that could not be helped. My aim was to see koalas and that was achieved.Holiday Reviews
