As noted, booking Machu Picchu in advance is important, especially since the changes made by the Peruvian government midway through this year; entries are selling out quickly and multiple routes within the ruins mean some tickets are in higher demand than others. We're happy to hear that the Inca Trail and Machu Picchu were highlights, as they are the activities that we operate directly from our office in Cusco, Peru. Our staff there is 100% local and led by women. Your guide for your time in the area was born in the Sacred Valley and lives in the area to this day. Please note that multiple services that you requested as part of your itinerary, including flights and individual transfers in cities we don't normally work in (for example Santa Cruz, Bolivia) were done as a courtesy with limited notice; they aren't part of any package we sell on our website or through Responsible Travel. Therefore, it's difficult to ensure that every aspect " benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation". However, if we had known this was a priority to you, we are able to support responsibility goals (for example carbon offsets for flights & ground transportation). We do ensure you that the operators in each location locally owned and operated, almost entirely by women.
