1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
We enjoyed the lebanese food and the variety of sights to see in Lebanon and travelling in a small group with a knowledgeable local guide.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
You don't need any smart/formal clothing for this holiday so you can travel relatively light, don't forget a torch as there are short power cuts.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes as tourism in Lebanon is not what it used to be due to both the civil war and the wars going on around its borders therefore any money bought into the
country by tourists is helping the local people.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Planet
Lebanon offers a wonderful variety of landscapes and terrains, and we are deeply committed to helping conserve this very special country. This journey travels along parts of the Lebanon Mountain Trail (LMT), which is reopening to travellers once again. We are passionate about leaving the LMT as we find it and operate a strict no litter policy, ensuring all refuse is either recycled or properly disposed of in nearby towns. Our guiding principle is simple: take nothing but memories, leave nothing but footprints. When not exploring the cities of Beirut or Byblos, we enjoy time on foot, taking in the sights, sounds and scents of Lebanon’s natural beauty. We visit a local vineyard to enjoy wine tasting in the Beqaa Valley and continue our journey through the mountains, forests and valleys that make this country so unique.
All of our leaders are trained to promote responsible tourism, with a particular focus on reducing the use of single use plastic.
We are also proud to partner with Water To Go, specialists in personal and expedition water purification. Their unique 350L bottles use advanced filtration technology to convert even the dirtiest water into safe drinking water as you fill up.
Being able to produce safe drinking water from sources off the beaten track offers incredible benefits to our adventure travellers and removes the need for single use plastic bottles. We subsidise this product to make it more accessible for you.
People
Throughout this journey we stay in locally owned accommodation such as Auberge Kheribe and Auberge Hadas el Jibeh, both beautiful traditional Lebanese homes that offer a genuine sense of welcome. During our time on the Lebanon Mountain Trail we also stay at St Antoine’s Monastery, a remarkable living heritage site that continues to host travellers, scholars and students. We use local drivers and tour leaders so that as much of the operational cost as possible goes directly into the local economy.Lebanon is world famous for its delicious cuisine and we make the most of every opportunity to enjoy it. Along the way we stop at fruit stalls and coffee kiosks and dine in traditional, locally owned restaurants. These shared meals not only support local communities but also offer our travellers an authentic taste of Lebanon’s culinary traditions.
We are proud to have developed links with FoodBlessed, a well established Lebanese charity that distributes food parcels to those in need, while also working with restaurants and supermarkets to reduce food waste and encourage redistribution. Our clients are welcome to learn more about their inspiring work and, if they wish, spend a few hours volunteering during their visit.
We also encourage travellers to shop for souvenirs in the colourful souks of Beirut and Byblos. Buying goods directly from local traders helps to support the local economy and ensures that tourism has a positive and lasting impact on the communities we visit.
