Italy's evocative island is a sun-baked and seductive site, rough around the edges, with a rugged volcano at its heart.

Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.
Planet
Our small ships run on Marine Diesel Oil, unlike larger ships that use non refined Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) which is non-refined, polluting and highly toxic.Additionally, Regular maintenance for each ship of our fleet takes place twice a year, a practice that is extremely important in reducing fuel consumption.
Single-Use Plastic Reduction: One of our guiding principles is to positively impact the areas in which we explore. That is why we are proud to have successfully completed a single-use plastic reduction program across our entire fleet, minimizing single-use plastic items. Such items include straws, stirrers, cups, lids, bottled water, among other items, as well as items wrapped in plastic; single-portion items such as butter cups, jams or yogurts. Our goal is to completely eliminate single-use plastics on board all our vessels. Our hope is that our actions will prompt other cruise operators to do the same.
We organise and facilitate beach clean ups on our sailings as part of the work of the Variety Cares foundation.
People
Our cruise itineraries take us to small islands which are not often visited by large cruise ships, and are designed to have minimal impact on local societies and ecosystems, without compromising our product quality or the guest experience. Our cruise directors are familiar with the islands we are visiting, and they are always there to introduce you to the local producers and the traditional places to visit. Whether that is a local winery, handicrafts, ancient sites or local historic monuments.
The cuisine on board is Mediterranean fusion, with the produce mostly locally sourced. Dietary requirements are always catered for, provided they are asked for when booking. Vegetarian food is always part of the menu.
5 euros from each booking is designated to the Care foundation which supports initiatives striving for clean oceans, gender equality, and education for all, creating a better world at sea one cruise at a time. Projects supported by Variety Cares include beach clean ups, investments in local schools and charities, arts festivals and more.
Our guiding principle is to 'Create a Better World at Sea', which means looking to deviate away from areas of over tourism, sourcing goods locally for use on board and above all ensuring that we have a positive impact on the destinations we visit.
On our cruises, our professional tour guides and on board experts are locally recruited. Our dedicated crew source goods locally for use on board, having the dual impact of both an authentic experience for our guests, and supporting the local economy of the islands we visit.
