It was a very enjoyable week. Ingi was a great tutor, and helped us create a lovely mosaic to take home. She took us out to visit various places and filled the week with things to do but managed to keep a relaxed feel to the holiday. Her home is very comfortable and she made us feel really welcome. This was a fascinating and relaxing holiday … learning new skills with expert tuition for just two of us, beautifully prepared food in a lovely home, many small thoughtful touches that meant travelling light was easier. Time to relax and many laughs along the way … perfect! Thankyou, Ingi! Read full reviewReviewed on 18 Oct 2025 by annette dancer
I thought this was an ideal holiday to enjoy life as a 'local' away from the tourist spots. An ideal holiday for a couple or 2 like minded friends who want to share a new experience Read full reviewReviewed on 07 Oct 2025 by Miranda Lonsdale
As a novice mosaic-er I was delighted with my finished mosaic. Ingi is a charming host and we were generously hosted in her own home, set in a lovely garden (with pool). I am inspired to create more mosaics and hope to return. Read full reviewReviewed on 06 Oct 2025 by Katrina Kretsinger
It was fantastic! ...I had so much fun learning to make mosaics, and working with Ingi was magical! She is a gifted teacher, knowing exactly when to offer input and when to let the students do their thing. Read full reviewReviewed on 12 Aug 2025 by Rebecca Halford-Thompson
Fabulous. Recommended for all those people who, like me, love to learn new skills. A week in a beautiful and comfortable house in quiet Calis beach is a gift to yourself that you won't regret. I cannot believe (as a mosaic novice) the incredible pomegranate mosaic that is now on my wall! Read full reviewReviewed on 26 Jul 2025 by Paul Sewter
Having a 'local' to guide you around not only ensures that you travel worry-free in a strange environment, but that you can converse more easily with local people. Ingi is a wonderful host and patient teacher. Her lovely home is comfortable, and you are made most welcome. The food was healthy and very tasty. The holiday is an excellent balance of creative art making and a Turkish holiday experience. Ingi is a generous host providing delicious food, a flexible itinerary, and great company. I am delighted with my mosaic. Having never done mosaic making, I had low expectations about how it might turn out, but I simply loved the practical making of it, and the way it unfolded as if it had a life of its own. Wonderful home and garden in a quieter end of the Fethiye Coast. The weather lent itself to lots of swimming in the sea and at home in the pool. My mosaic experience was more than I imagined. I am bringing home a special reminder of my stay with Ingi. Read full reviewReviewed on 02 Jul 2025 by PETRA GEGGIE

Go for it! The house is lovely, beautiful and relaxing. You will learn loads about mosaic making and you will bring home a beautiful work of art. I loved this holiday and I'm keen to continue with making mosaics. I found it inspirational. Read full reviewReviewed on 12 Oct 2024 by Leonor Rueda
If I could put over a 5 stars review I would! Making the mosaic it was a great experience, we even have time to go out and about, taste great food and even had time to go to the beach. I will definitely come back. Read full reviewReviewed on 28 Sep 2024 by Patti Smithson
Be prepared to relax and learn! Ingi takes care of any needs you may have and is flexible with the mosaic making schedule. That being said, she knows precisely how much time will be required for your mosaic's completion. She is quite the perfectionist, so be prepared to return home with a beautiful piece of art. The beautiful mosaic I produced was a total surprise as I had not done this before (this was thanks to Ingi’s amazing teaching). Make the most of the amazing accommodation and the Ingi’s welcome. Absolutely brilliant! Read full reviewReviewed on 09 Jun 2024 by Nicola Blackwell
Overall this was an excellent holiday, very much enjoyed by all of us (two mosaicists, and two partners - one a writer, one an avid reader). Ingi was a great host who organised some splendid trips out and tailored them to our wishes. Read full reviewReviewed on 30 Sep 2023 by Kerry Snelgrove

Everything was memorable and exciting however, I particularly enjoyed the Turkish baths and Dalyan’s Turtle beach, a UNESCO site. The boat trip getting there was very special and I even saw a turtle in the river popping its head up to take a breath. Read full reviewReviewed on 23 Jul 2023 by Emma Baldwin

I highly recommend this holiday and will definitely be telling all my friends about it. Read full reviewResponsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.
Planet
To protect the environment we:- Reduce as much waste as possible, avoid buying styrofoam or plastics and use recyclable products whenever possible
- Have solar panels to produce hot water
- Have our own underground water source to water the garden
- Use environmental-friendly, recyclable products: cleaning products, dishwasher tablets, soap, shower gel, shampoo...
- Ask guests to use the ceiling fans rather than the air-conditioning and make sure to turn them off when leaving the room
- Ask guests to consider the environment and water waste when using towels and bed linen
- Mattresses are made from bamboo or aloe vera fibres
- Most of the food is seasonal, very fresh, locally grown and organic
- Have a lovely garden full of flowers and fruit trees: lemons, oranges, peaches, apricots, avocados, bananas to name a few - all organically grown
- Don't own a car and get around on foot or by bike. For longer distances we use public transport or our local taxi
- Participate in beach and forest clean-ups with volunteers in the area
- Regularly donate to the Sea Turtle Sanctuary on Iztuzu Beach (Dalyan) and several times a year we help release recovered sea turtles back into the sea
Last but not least:
- Mosaic is one of the oldest and most sustainable art forms in the world
Unfortunately, protecting the environment in Turkey lacks behind Europe, although things are improving slowly. We encourage local people and make them more aware so that they too can start making difference.
People
To support the community we:- Employ local cleaners, gardeners, support small shops and no longer own a car; we rather support our local minibus and taxi drivers
- Buy fresh food from local people, who grow their own produce
- Give our own fruit to small shop owners for free so they can sell it
- Buy fish from the local fishermen (we don't eat farmed fish!) and buy our honey from the beekeeper
- Help harvesting the olives with the local people, take them to the press and then buy our freshly pressed olive oil from them
I strongly believe that when living in another country it is imperative to learn the language and be part of the local community. Turkish people feel honoured that, as a foreigner, you want to become part of their community. They welcome you and enjoy sharing their homes, traditions and their lives with you. My friends and neighbours are mostly Turkish. From weddings to funerals, social and religious events – I have been part of them.
I share this experience with my guests so that they feel part of it too.
