Plastic-free Nepal is a dream for us, but we believe all changes start from small steps. That is why we promote an eco-movement. Please don't bring any plastic when you come to visit us such as bags, cosmetic travel kits, snacks and so on. We ask you to refuse to take plastic bags from locals when you buy something, refuse to take straws, coffee covers to go, unhealthy biscuits or chocolates and etc. Bring your own BPA free bottle for water that you can refill instead of buying each time mineral water in plastic bottles.

Water in the tap is very precious here, please remember about that when you are taking a shower or brushing teeth. For laundry people in Nepal mostly use rivers and wash things with detergent, washing machine is a luxury here. Bring more cloth made of merino wool that can be worn longer without washing and polluting rivers - sports cloth also is a better choice.

During the trip, we will use public buses or vans at long distances. It is a camping trek as well where we promise to carry out everything we bring for our convenience. We recommend to stay vegetarian on this trek, we will eat locally-grown food which is organic in this part of Nepal.

All our suppliers like hotels, restaurants support eco-movement which is important for us to set up a trend of cleanliness and thinking about our environment.

We recommend sticking to a mainly vegetarian diet when travelling here as in this way you can support locally-grown food (zero food miles). It is organic and reduces cooking by eating more healthy snacks like sundried fruits and nuts, fresh veggies and fruits, reduce the logistic emission of imported foods and support locals in their beginnings as imported food doesn't bring much positive impact for the country tourism.

People

As this is a very remote part which is not very often visited by travellers, people are very conservative. That's why we ask you to dress modestly and behave well. Meet and greet them on your way, learn some Nepali, teach English to locals, have a tea with them, try to live like a local and spend some time in the field.

We employ our tour guides exactly from this region as tourism field is not developed here so we want to create extra income for those in need. We provide them with good working conditions: insurance, salary, equipment, clothes, shoes, meals, accommodation. Once a year training is a must for our guides which benefits them and they could be tour leaders someday. English is an official language here, we encourage our guides to learn more languages in order to lead more specific tours.

We will visit local manufacturers that educate and employ women of Nepal so they could be independent and chase their dreams. We will learn more about these precious projects and you can shop for lots of useful souvenirs from Nepal such as bags, wallets, toys, clothes, organic cosmetics, jewellery, prints and so one.

There many institutions that require support and help. If you have a wish to help during this trek please consult with us in advance and we will recommend to you what is best for people. Just giving the money directly can be problematic as the level of corruption is high, but bringing already made stuff is the best option.

There will always be a possibility to visit handicrafts shops that make things from recycled materials. You can get gifts like bags, scarfs, jewellery, art, monuments and so on. In this way, you will support locals a lot as farming is almost impossible in that area to make on living.

People are very conservative, we ask you to dress properly with respect. Respect their customs and traditions which are extremely different from any others.

Greet each other on the way, learn some Nepali language, teach your own language. English is not common there as in the central part of Nepal.
