Travel guides
Patagonia: a triangle of land at the end of the world, with calving glaciers, shattered fjords and jagged mountains.
Our guide reveals a vast, icy continent that is considered by many to be Earth’s last slice of wilderness.
Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.
Planet
The itineraries we create are guided by three core pillars: protecting the environment, supporting local communities and enabling our guests to travel responsibly. To ensure this, we partner with a boutique team on the ground that champions responsible tourism and shares our values.Visits to national parks include park entry fees, which directly fund conservation of landscapes and wildlife. We prioritise low-impact activities such as walking tours and hikes to minimise carbon footprint and we encourage small group led tours or buses over longer transfers to reduce the number of vehicles, lowering emissions and visitor pressure on sensitive sites.
Through experiences, our guides educate guests about the fragile ecosystems they visit like the Tierra del Fuego National Park and Antarctic Peninsula raising environmental awareness and sharing responsible visitor tips, so that guests understand local challenges and how to minimise negative impact.
We also prioritise accommodation that align with our sustainability standards. For example:
-Palo Santo Hotel is Argentina’s first urban green hotel in Argentina. Adorned with more than 800 thriving plants, not only does it look aesthetically pleasing but it also provides the building with natural insulation and absorbs CO2 emissions. All the hotel operations follow environmentally friendly practices.
-Tierra de Leyendas is locally run and owner operated. Founders of the ‘Clean up Ushuaia’’ movement which works on plastic pollution awareness and clean-up campaigns in Ushuaia. They are certified in “Environmentally Sustainable Hospitality” by Ecoturismo Argentina. As well as promoting conscious energy use, waste reduction and sourcing food from the local area as well as their own garden.
-We have purposefully chosen Ocean Albatross for your Antarctic cruise as it is a next-generation expedition ship using better engines, cleaner fuel, efficient hull design, no single-use plastics, sustainable sourcing, and responsible operating procedures. Its operators are pioneers of citizen science in the region and work with research facilities such as NASA and the Scripps Institute. Guests are encouraged to get involved, collecting seawater samples, tracking whales etc.
People
People are at the heart of everything we do. All our operations are locally based, from suppliers and transfers to guides, ensuring meaningful employment for residents and authentic storytelling rooted in Argentinean culture. Both Buenos Aires and Ushuaia are explored primarily on foot, encouraging genuine engagement with local life, artisans, and traditions. We partner with small boutique and family-owned hotels, such as Palo Santo Hotel and Tierra de Leyendas, to ensure tourism revenue directly benefits the local economy. These properties prioritise employing local staff, collaborating with local suppliers, and sourcing food from nearby producers to support regional agriculture and reduce food miles wherever possible.
At Palo Santo Hotel, people’s well-being comes first. The hotel offers a healthy work environment, opportunities for personal and professional growth, and equal opportunities for both men and women at all levels. Suppliers are selected based on shared ethical and sustainability values, and the hotel partners with El Ceibo; a cooperative formed by former cartoneros to recycle waste. This initiative provides dignified employment for people in vulnerable economic situations or with disabilities.
At Tierra de Leyendas, cultural heritage and community connection are central. The décor reflects the region’s historical roots, and the hotel hosts an annual event that brings together local artists and residents to foster environmental awareness and celebrate the spirit of Tierra del Fuego.
