CARBON REDUCTION

In terms of transport to the pyramids we use hybrid electric/diesel vehicles for transportation of guests from Cairo to each of the pyramids in this tour.

Walking at each pyramid site is the main activity with vehicles not permitted to enter the precinct. They are essentially working tours.

The Marriott Hotel is the main hotel used on this tour. The Marriott Hotel was the first hotel in Cairo to launch an advanced solar energy system, utilizing solar power to convert sunlight into electrical energy. Marriott International's global "Serve 360" sustainability and social impact strategy, which includes goals to reduce carbon emissions and water intensity. The Cairo Marriott Hotel & Omar Khayyam Casino has received third-party sustainability certifications, such as the "Green Star Hotel" Program.

Vegetarian and vegan meal available throughout.

Local Economy
All local guides are employed and their pay rates and certifications are sanctioned by the Department of Antiquities and Tourism. These are updated regularly and most recently in October 2025. These rates vary depending on the hosts certification level.

All the guides that are employed on this pyramid tour are local guides that reside in the areas we are visiting. They live in walking distance of the pyramids. Our guides are a cross section of Egyptian society and include Bedouins and Nubians. Female guides make up 60% approx. and men 40% of our tour guides.

Trainee guides gain work experience with us and they are paid at rates sanctioned by the Ministry.

Vegetarian and vegetarian meals are offered for lunch each day from locally owned restaurants enroute to and from the different pyramids. Hence we patronise only locally owned restaurants where the ingredients for the food are sourced from local market gardens,

EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY
All the staff employed are Egyptians as well as our ground operating partners (DMC) who manage our bookings and transport providers.

Our tours are suitable for people with limited mobility.
