Independent exploration on foot or bicycle is encouraged, particularly at Lakaz Chamarel in Mauritius, where we provide starva mapped walking and cycling routes to nearby attractions and viewpoints.

Vegetarian and vegan food is available throughout the itinerary.
All the accommodations selected use locally sources and seasonal ingredients within the menu, with on-site herb and vegetable gardens in two properties.
ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE
All properties have policies in place to minimise an eliminate single use plastic where possible.
All properties use carefully chosen native plant life throughout gardens, and Lakaz Chamarel, set in the Mauritian hills, is a haven for birdlife due to the lish vegetation used throughout the property.
We have carefully chosen excursions and activities (some optional) that benefit the environment, whether it is e-bike tours through parts of Mauritius or guided visits to the Ebony Forest, a endemic forest that has been carefully restored and is supported by entrance fees.
Constance hotels & Resorts, which operate two of the properties included, have a number of different project in place including, water saving devices, desalinating seawater to reduce the impact on local water sources, using eco-friendly products and designs throughout, supporting beach clean-ups, only selling reef-safe sunscreen and only using organic fertilizers throughout the properties.

LOCAL ECONOMY All properties are locally owned, either independently or by a Mauritian based Indian Ocean chain.
Constance Hotels & Resorts, which own two of the properties included, are support further hospitality education in Mauritius, and a number of community programs, including local sportsmen and women.
Prior to the trip, we advise on local restaurants and cafes to experience. We also include information on local artists, stores, markets, musicians and authors for travellers to support if they so wish.
Attractions which support local producers, including cookery lessons, tea tastings, street food markets and locally produced souvenirs, can all be added to the itinerary if desired.
