Top 8 holidays in Wales

Wales may be tiny, but it’s built for adventure. There are wild rivers to raft down, a wide network of trails for hiking, biking and horse riding, and a dramatic coastline for kayaking, surfing and watching out for dolphins, whales and seals. Our adventure holidays will put you at the heart of the action, but you’ll have time for contemplation, too: think nights under the stars, wild camping and moonlit walks along the beach. Keep reading to discover our top eight adventure holidays in Wales.

1. Tackle Snowdonia's highest peaks

This hiking adventure is no easy feat to complete, but spreading Snowdonia’s 14 highest peaks across three days rather than just 24 hours allows much more time to bask in the amazing scenery (as well as take a breather). Local mountain guides escort our small groups the entire way, saving the biggest – Snowdon – ‘til last. This is a long weekend you’ll be talking about for a long time.

2. Choose your own adventure

Of course, you could always choose your own adventure – by self catering in a beautiful lakeside cottage. Wales has them in abundance and, with the weather changing every five minutes, it can be nice to decide for yourself whether you fancy kayaking, golfing or bird watching or whether it’s the right time to try the underground zipline! Choose a cottage that’s been carbon zero since 2014, with on-site electric vehicle charging and some very optimistic solar panels.
