There are more ways to get fit than simply heading to a sterile, air conditioned gym…
Contrary to perceptions, Wales isn’t really that wet, at least not compared to its neighbours.
Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.
Planet
Our Trans Wales Trail Running Trip has been designed with the environment in mind. In terms of transport, you can't get much more environmentally friendly than your own two legs! This human powered holiday has only 72kg of carbon per person for the whole trip. Once you have completed this epic journey, we will take you on the train back to Ruabon, which again helps keep your carbon footprint down. The running routes take in some remote areas of Wales, places that are home to all kind's of wildlife. We stick to paths which create the the least impact on the environment and habitat's around us without taking away the immersive experience of being in the wild hills.
Guests will also be given the opportunity to take part in a voluntary trail clean in association with Trash Free Trails, meaning we always intend to leave the trails cleaner than we found them.
People
Our trip's are created with community in mind. We are proud to support local business owner's through booking locally owned accommodation. Guests will be eating at locally owned cafe's, restaurant's and pubs, bringing business into the local community. We also hire a local independent trail running guide for the whole trip, which provides work for people trying to make a career in the outdoors. In the UK, working in the outdoor industry can prove difficult as a lot of the work and tourism is seasonal. The Trans Wales trail running holiday, also runs in the Autumn allowing us to provide work and business to the local community after the Summer season ends.
We recognise the importance of keeping our groups small. This avoids overwhelming communities and wild spaces, particularly on a trip such as this one that covers remote areas, we want to create a big impact for our guests whilst leaving a small impact on our environment.
