Responsible Travel

Planet
CARBON REDUCTIONWe have limited the use of domestic flights (for example from the southern part of the country- Djerba or Tozeur- back to Tunis). Instead, we use hybrid minivans that reduce the operational carbon emissions of the trip.
The food we serve throughout the trip is locally sourced and seasonal, and the cuisine is healthy and olive oil based Mediterranean cuisine , featuring fish/seafood and vegetables in the coast, and meat/vegetables in the interior regions of the country. Fruits are all seasonal and sourced by our providers from local markets and local farmers reducing the supply chain carbon impact.
ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE
We are committed to promoting nature positive holidays – trips that actively help both protect and restore healthy biodiversity
The hotels we use are almost exclusively boutique hotels run by families who respect their local environment and use recycling as well as have strict guidelines on water management given the water scarcity issues in Tunisia.
The preservation of endangered species both in natural lakes (like Lake Ichkeul where hundreds of birds migrate every winter from Europe to Africa) as well as the in the Sahara desert where our vehicles 4X4 do not cross the desert to reduce the amount of noise and pollution on endangered species, are core to our programs.
People
LOCAL ECONOMYLocal economic development is a key component of our philosophy to give back to the communities that host us. We use a majority of boutique hotels that are owned and operated by local families. This approach not only supports the local economy but also provides our travelers with a more authentic and enriching experience.
Our hosts often share their traditional skills, such as baking bread using ancestral techniques, crafting handmade textiles, or producing unique artisanal souvenirs. By staying in these establishments, our travelers do more than just find a place to sleep—they become part of a cultural exchange, where traditions are passed down and appreciated firsthand.
EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY, AND DIVERSITY
We are deeply committed to local employment, inclusivity, and diversity. All our employees are Tunisians, and whenever possible, we recruit local guides from the regions we visit. We highlight the efforts of young people who promote their heritage and communities, as well as women’s cooperatives that prepare delicious traditional meals and create valuable local handicrafts.
We have worked closely with local communities to develop a more “experiential” approach to tourism. Our journeys are designed to incorporate their insights and participation, featuring non-traditional, eco-friendly visits that provide a deeper and more meaningful connection to each destination. By integrating local voices into our trips, we ensure that tourism remains a force for good, fostering sustainable development and cultural appreciation.
