Holiday information

Wheelchair accessibility:
If you are travelling solo and  need a helping hand to push the wheelchair, your driver and guide will be happy to assist you. At most of the monuments, you can also get assistance. We guarantee in each hotel, a wheelchair accessible room with a roll-in shower. We have inspected and carefully selected a few hotels which we feel will meet most of your requirements. For transport, we provide air conditioned Sedan cars which are low floor vehicles. It may need manual assistance to shift from wheelchair to car seat. We can provide a wooden transfer board, in case you need it. You have the possibility to request a SUV type car which would also need manual assistance to get in and out of the car. If you wish to travel with your family + caretaker and would need a bigger vehicle, we have a possibility of using a van with manually operated foldable ramp.

Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.

Planet

-Our environmental policy starts from our office and our homes. We use minimum of papers, we donot print unless and until it is essential. Once paper is printed and has served its purpose, it is reused from opposite side either for printing or for manual writing, for office internal use. Once fully used, paper is sold further for recycling.
-We donot use single use plastic like plastic cups or plastic plates or even sealed water bottles in office. For our each guest we give stainless steel water bottles that can be used each day for filling filtered water from their hotels before leaving for visits…this avoids using Plastic Mineral water bottles.
-To receive our guests at airport, hand written reusable board is used instead of a paper paging board or laminated paper paging board.
-As a welcome kit, guests are handed over cloth bags which can be used for shopping or to carry small items during the travel in India and later can be carried back home for further use.

Hotels for this particular tour :
-For wheelchair accessible travel, most important is to ensure that our guests are allocated hotels which are accessible for wheelchair users. We have carefully studied hotels in different cities which offer accessible rooms with accessible bathrooms / toilets.
For this particular tour, we have used hotels which are owned by Indians while some of them have collaborated with global hotel chains. They all meet the requirement of accessible travel.
All hotels make conscious effort towards environment in term of water conservation, water harvesting and waste disposal.

Transport :
-Our vehicles regularly go through fitness checks as fixed by the Government of India ensuring that they donot pollute environment.
-Drives in India may not be very much educated to communicate with you in fluent English but they will be able to converse with you are well experienced to drive on Indian roads and ensure comfort of our guests.
-Some of the vehicles are owned by us while others may be contracted from other transport vendors.

People

Economic responsibility :
- We will assign you an Indian guide for this tour from Delhi to Delhi. At some monuments he will be hiring local guides along with local person to push the wheelchair (if required) giving direct employment to them.
-There will be one session about introduction to ancient practice of Yoga with a local yoga teacher.
-You will visit local markets where there may be need of local guide to assist the accompanying guide.
-With your help, we do our bit by contributing financially to NGOs like Sightsavers India and those taking care of Mentally Challenged. We are personally involved in giving yoga lessons to Visually Impaired Girls.
-During the tour, we will take you to The Elephant Conservation and Care centre which is a safe haven and rehabilitation centre for elephants rescued from abusive and deprived conditions in captivity as working or performing animals.
-To experience the Indian society and its culture, we will take you to local family over a meal.
-India is famous for its handicrafts which is showcased in local craft shops from where you can buy souvenirs and gifts. There could also be an opportunity to learn a craft, like pottery learning or ceramic making or even fabric printing in traditional way.
-We ensure that our partners (hotels, transporters, guides and any other partner helping us in your tour) are paid immediately after they have rendered their services to our guests. Some of them could be contracted through other partners, we hope that final service provider is paid at the soonest since we have paid from our side.
-Cuisine in India changes from state to state, and we love giving you the glimpse of same by taking you to local restaurants for meals. Taking meals in these restaurants supports them and the locals associated with them.

Social responsibility :
-Our tours include visit to wheelchair accessible monuments. You will visit UNESCO World Heritage sites and sites which are managed by Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). Buying entrances tickets to these monuments helps these organisations are doing their best to conserve the heritage of our country.
Besides this you may visit local museums and craft centres including painting schools important in preserving the craft.
-During the tour, you will get the chance to attend local music and dance performances. These activities employ huge number of locals and some of the families carry the tradition of music and dance from generation to generations.
