Responsible Travel

Planet
We promote the use of environmentally friendly and sustainable practices throughout the tour. We leave no trace of our presence in the park once we leave and recycle everything we can. We adhere strictly to the rules and guidelines for wildlife watching and participation in the national park and also inform the authorities of people who blatantly disregard the rules and endanger themselves, the wildlife or the sustainability of the park. We contribute to the numerous private researchers that volunteer so much of their time to wolf research and conservation and other conservation goals throughout the entire Yellowstone Ecosystem. We donate annually (depending on how many tours and how many guests we have taken to see the wolves of Yellowstone) to the Yellowstone Wolf Project and/or Wolf Conservation Center with a view to increasing knowledge and protection for wolves in Yellowstone, the US and around the world. Through our guide we are also involved in wolf research and conservation.
We also make notes of other vehicles and people we see which are in breach of basic environmentally friendly rules and running illegal guided tours and report such vehicles and persons to the authorities.
Wildlife Promise:
We strictly adhere to the guidelines regarding safe wolf watching. These guidelines details the distances that vehicles and people are allowed to get to the wolves and hoe to behave around the animals as well.
We also keep a record of all the wolf activity we see on each tour and record the environmental factors, this data is used by ourselves but also given to the researchers who work out of Yellowstone. All the information collected in invaluable as continued protection of Yellowstone and American wolves as a whole is still not 100% assured. We also donate our pictures to the researchers to aid in their photo identification studies.
People
Whilst Yellowstone lies in one of the most progressive and developed countries in the world, it is still very important to help the local community when it comes to sustainable and responsible tourism and protection of the wilderness ecosystem here. For all our Yellowstone tours we always use local guides who utilize local and private suppliers for accommodation, vehicles, equipment and activities throughout. This helps to ensure that the economic benefits of this tour stays within the local community. When lodging, we endeavour to eat our meals in locally owned, family run restaurants which support local business, as well as allowing passengers to experience local flavour and mix with local people when appropriate. With all the packed breakfasts and lunches that we will eat whilst inside the parks, we make sure that all food and supplies are bought from local shops; helping to support local business and we also try and source all our food from within a few miles of Yellowstone. We also help the local community if you choose to visit the Old Faithful area as the snowcoach drivers and all the staff in the Old Faithful Snow Lodge are dedicated and committed Yellowstone winter staff. They are amongst the most passionate and dedicated of all staff that work in the park throughout the year and the majority of the guides here are actively involved in educational programmes to help the local people benefit from the park and its wildlife.
